La Leggenda del Pianista sull’Oceano

[American title: The Legend of 1900]

Just a few thoughts on this film. I do like the music, which I believe was the only element of the film that had emotional intensity. I also like Tim Roth but I was distracted with his facial expressions and I can only blame his Cal Lightman character for that. And of course, I enjoyed the magical realism elements throughout the film. One detail I didn’t like? The explosion in the end. It just didn’t fit in the flow of the film and the dramatic effect was lost.

“Take piano: keys begin, keys end. You know there are 88 of them. Nobody can tell you any different. They are not infinite. You’re infinite. And on those keys, the music that you can make is infinite. I like that. That I can live by.” - Danny Boodmann T.D. Lemon Nineteen Hundred, aka “1900”

This film is about a man who did not feel the need to step outside the world to live it.
